“Esscents” of Essential Oils

What are essential Oils? The life force of the plant containing vitamins, minerals, enzymes and hormones. It is chemically similar to human blood and provides regenerating oxygenating a;nd antibacterial support to the plant. Essential oils are extracted from a broad range of flowers, stems, roots bark and seed. They are made up of the same five elements as the human body: hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, carbon and sulfur. They contain amino acids, the building blocks of protein.

HISTORY OF ESSENTIAL OIL

live your passion essential oilPeople’s first medicine, essential oils were used by the ancient Egyptians for healing diseases, aiding skin/hair care, embalming royalty, and practicing their religious rituals.

Essential oils are mentioned in the Bible numerous times-oils like frankincense, myrrh, rosemary, hyssop, cedar wood, etc.

During the Middle  Ages, perfumers turned grave robbers resisted the great plagues of the 13th and 14th century by anointing themselves with pine, balsam, clove, frankincense and rosemary

With the rise of modern medicine, essential oils went underground like so many of the natural health remedies. However, in the 1920’s,French perfume chemist Rene Maurice Gattefasse burnt his arm in a laboratory fire, and plunged it into a vat of clear liquid thinking it was water. The burning stopped immediately and his skin healed perfectly.  It turned out that the vat contained lavender oil. Being a chemist, Gattefasse began to study essential oils for their therapeutic properties and he coined the word “aromatherapy.”

How do essential oils work?  They are 1) our richest source of oxygen, 2) lipid soluble, and 3) complex, sometimes made up of 1,000’s of constituents.

  1. They deliver 21% more oxygen to every cell in the body in 20 minutes
  2. Oxygen prevents viruses, fungus for growing, keeps blood pure, slows down aging, increases memory activity and digestive function
  3. Essential oils work so well because disease cannot exist in an oxygen rich environment. They help soften hardened cell walls caused by disease or a weakened immune system, so that toxins can pass out and nutrients can get in
